We met in 1998 when we were sophomores in high school in Van Buren, Arkansas. We quickly became friends and remained friends into college. In 2002, after our freshman year, our relationship evolved beyond friendship and we started dating. We’ve been together ever since and were finally able to get married on August 5, 2015. We were so fortunate in 2019 to adopt our first daughter, Nora. Watching her grow and develop has been the most rewarding experience of our lives and we would love for her to have a sibling with which to share life experiences. We also have a small, sweet dog named Sophia. She loves children and children love her.
We moved to Memphis, TN in 2006 for Andrew to complete medical school and Isaiah to begin teaching. We fell in love with the city and decided to stay. We live in a diverse community in the heart of vibrant downtown Memphis. At home, we enjoy cooking together, reading, watching movies, and having friends and family over. We also love going out to new restaurants, going to the theater, seeing an occasional movie on the weekends, or catching some live music at one of the many venues in Memphis. When the weather is nice, we love to be outside. We walk, bike, swim, and play frisbee with Sophia.
Together, we have traveled to at least 44 states as well as Puerto Rico, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Europe. We love to explore unique places and immerse ourselves in different cultures. We want to share our love of travel with our children and hope to explore more of our country and the world when they are old enough.
