Both of us were born and raised in western Arkansas and most of our family still lives there. They live less than 300 miles from Memphis, so we are able to see them frequently. Andrew was raised in a very loving home with younger brothers, Adam and Matt, and younger sister, Kari. Kari has two young children and Matt just had his first child. His father Darrell owns an auto repair shop and his mother Marcie, who trained to be a teacher, stayed at home for Andrew and his siblings. His parents have been married 36 years. Isaiah was raised with his younger brother Jacob, and has a nine-year-old nephew. His parents, Philip and Cheryle, have been married 39 years. His father is a retired middle school principal and his mother recently retired as a dental hygienist.
Having lived in Memphis for over ten years, we’ve made many close friends here that we consider our Memphis family. Several of our friends live within walking distance of our home, including a couple that also have an adopted son. We meet at our local pizza place every Wednesday, where several families in our neighborhood congregate. Our friends also rotate hosting Sunday dinners in our homes where we cook and play card games, hanging out and having fun together.
